- Your official e-ticket comes as a PDF on WhatsApp and email. Today’s price is in the table below.
- Kashi bookings are non-refundable and can’t be rescheduled, so fix your date before you pay.
- Shri Kashi Vishwanath is open 06:00 AM – 09:00 PM, as the temple lists it.
What Sugam darshan is, and what MandirMay does
Shri Kashi Vishwanath in Varanasi is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and the general queue to the sanctum can be long, especially on Mondays and festival days. The temple runs its own paid entry, Sugam darshan, for devotees who want a shorter, more predictable wait. The ticket is issued by the temple board, not by MandirMay or any travel company.
MandirMay offers booking assistance for this official ticket. You tell us your date and who is going, and our team books the Sugam darshan ticket on the temple board’s portal on your behalf, using the details you share. The ticket that reaches you is the temple’s own e-ticket, in your names.
To be clear: MandirMay is an independent platform that helps devotees with bookings. We are not affiliated with the Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, and we don’t run the queue, the slots or the rules inside the temple. What we take off your hands is the form-filling, the slot hunting and the follow-up, and, if you want, the rest of your trip around it.

How booking works, step by step
- Book Sugam darshan on MandirMay. Choose your date and the number of devotees on the Kashi Vishwanath page. Up to five devotees can go on one booking. You see the price for your date before you pay.
- Pay online through Razorpay. You pay an advance first and the rest before your visit.
- Share your details. Our support team contacts you on WhatsApp or by phone and collects the details for each devotee (listed below).
- We book the official ticket. The team books your Sugam darshan on the temple board’s portal, in the slot you asked for.
- Your e-ticket arrives. The confirmed temple e-ticket is sent to your WhatsApp and email as a PDF. Keep it on your phone or carry a printout.
If your preferred slot is already full, the team contacts you to offer another time. If no time works for you, the amount is refunded in full.
When to book. Slots on Mondays, in Shravan and on festival days go first, so book as soon as your travel dates are fixed. On ordinary weekdays outside the peak season there is usually more choice of time. If your group has more than five devotees, split it across two bookings and tell the team, so they can try to keep you in the same slot.
Choosing a slot. Pick a time that leaves room on either side: a buffer after your train or flight arrives, and enough time afterwards for the ghats, a puja or your journey home. Early-morning slots are popular with families who want the cooler, calmer part of the day.
Details you need for each devotee
The temple books Sugam darshan against each devotee’s Aadhaar, so the details must match exactly. For every devotee above 12 years of age, keep these ready:
- Full name, exactly as it appears on the Aadhaar card
- Age
- Gender
- Aadhaar number
Children under 12 enter free and don’t need a ticket. Tell us if children are travelling with you, so the booking counts the right number of adults.
A spelling mismatch between the ticket and the ID can cause trouble at the gate, so check each name before you send it. Carry the same Aadhaar cards with you on the day.
On the day: time, queue and what to carry
With a Sugam darshan ticket, entry and darshan usually take 30 to 45 minutes on a regular day, and up to 90 minutes on peak weekends and festival days. Reach the temple a little before your slot so you are not rushing through the lanes.
The temple’s visiting hours are listed as 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM; see Kashi Vishwanath darshan timings for the aartis and the quieter times of day.
Before you go:
- Carry the Aadhaar card of every ticketed devotee and the e-ticket.
- Wear traditional clothes. If you plan to add Sparsh darshan, traditional wear is expected.
- The temple has security checks and limits what you can take inside. Keep bags small, and plan to leave phones and other items at the cloakroom or lockers near the gates.
- October to March is the most comfortable time to visit Varanasi. Mondays, Shravan (July–August) and festival days are the busiest.
Today the temple connects to the river ghats through the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, so it is easy to walk down to the Ganga after darshan. Many devotees take a dip or do a Sankalp puja at the ghat first, then come up for darshan.
Add a stay, transfers or a puja
Many devotees book Sugam darshan as part of a longer stay in Kashi. You can add these to the same booking:
- A hotel room near the temple, about a 2–3 minute walk from it, in Economy or Premium.
- Airport or railway station pickup and drop. Varanasi Airport is about 25 km from the temple and Varanasi Junction about 5 km.
- A Sankalp puja at the Ganga ghat before darshan, or a Rudrabhishek with one, two or four pandits.
- The evening boat ride on the Ganga, by the seat or for the whole boat.
If you would rather book it all at once, look for a ready-made Kashi Darshan, Ganga Aarti & Boat trip on the Kashi Vishwanath page, with Sugam darshan, a ghat puja, the evening boat and airport transfers over two nights, when one fits your dates. More options are on the Varanasi tour package page.
Booking policy: refunds and date changes
Please read this before you pay. Kashi bookings are non-refundable and can’t be rescheduled. Once your Sugam darshan ticket is booked on the temple portal in your names and slot, it can’t be moved to another day.
The one exception is on our side: if the slot you asked for is already full and no other time suits you, we refund you in full.
So it helps to settle your travel dates, train or flight, and the names on each Aadhaar before you book. If you are travelling in Shravan or on a festival, tell us when you book so we can look for a slot that fits around the crowds.
