Why stay near the temple in Deoghar

Baba Baidyanath Dham sits in the middle of Deoghar, and the lanes around it are where most pilgrims stay. Being close to the temple makes a real difference to your darshan:

  • An early start is easy. The temple opens at 4 AM, and the calmest time for darshan is usually early on a weekday morning. From a room a few minutes away, you can walk over without arranging a car.
  • You can go back and rest. After darshan, or between darshan and a puja, you can return to your room instead of waiting around the temple. This helps families with elders and children.
  • Traffic matters less. On Mondays, festival days and through Shravan, the roads near the temple are crowded and often closed to vehicles. Walking is often the only practical way in.

MandirMay does not name the hotels on this page. What we offer is a set of rooms that meet the same standard: a short walk from the temple, with AC, an attached bathroom and lift access.

Room types and who they suit

All rooms are a two to three minute walk from the temple, have AC, an attached bathroom and lift access. There are two levels:

Economy

  • Deluxe 2 Bed in 1 Room: a double-bed AC room, good for a couple on a budget.

Premium

  • Premium 2 Bed in 1 Room: a more spacious double-bed room with a sofa, good for a couple who want more room.
  • Premium 3 Bed in 1 Room: three beds in one AC room, for a small family.
  • Premium 4 Bed in 1 Room: four beds in one AC room, for a family travelling together.

Today's price for each room is in the table below. What you pay depends on your dates, and you see that price before you pay anything.

Check-in is at 12 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. If you are arriving on an early flight or train, plan your darshan for the morning and check in afterwards, or tell us and we will see what the hotel can do.

How booking a room works

  1. Choose a room on the Baidyanath Dham page, with your check-in date and number of nights. The price for those dates is shown before you pay.
  2. Add anything else you need to the same booking: a VIP (Shighra) darshan pass, a Rudrabhishek, or an airport or railway station pickup.
  3. Pay an advance online through Razorpay. The rest is paid before your visit.
  4. We confirm on WhatsApp with your room and plan, and a MandirMay representative meets you at the dham on your darshan day.

Each devotee should carry a government photo ID, both for check-in and for darshan.

Booking a room in Shravan and on festival days

Rooms near the temple fill first during Shravan, when the Shravani Mela brings kanwariyas to Deoghar, on Mahashivratri, and on Mondays through the busy months. If your dates fall then, book your room as early as you can, and before you book your train or flight if possible.

In the Shravan season the roads near the temple are crowded and often closed to vehicles, so a room within walking distance matters even more. The temple's administration also has special pujas like Rudrabhishek done in the outer halls rather than the main garbha griha during the season.

For a calmer stay, October to March is the most comfortable time of year in Deoghar. See Shravani Mela in Deoghar if you are planning a Shravan visit.

A room as part of a Deoghar trip

If you would rather have the stay, darshan and transfers in one plan, a ready-made Baidyanath Dham Darshan & Rudrabhishek trip, when one fits your dates, includes two nights in a hotel near the dham, VIP darshan with Sankalp, a Rudrabhishek, sightseeing to Basukinath, Tapovan and Trikut Pahar, and airport pickup and drop. It is customisable, so you can add a night or more rooms.

Coming by air or rail? Deoghar Airport is about 12 km from the temple and Jasidih Junction about 8 km. MandirMay's pickup takes you straight to your hotel. See how to reach Deoghar.
