Deoghar tour packages: Baidyanath Dham trips with darshan, stay and transfers

Most people come to Deoghar, in Jharkhand, for one reason: darshan of Baba Baidyanath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Around that darshan sit the practical questions: where to stay, how to get from the airport or station, when to do the puja, and what else to see nearby.

When a trip is on sale, today's price is in the table below. What you pay depends on your date and the number of devotees, and you see that price before you pay anything.

Day 1. You are picked up at Deoghar Airport and taken to your hotel near the temple. After you settle in, your representative takes you for VIP (Shighra) darshan, with jal, flowers and bel patra ready, and a Sankalp puja.

Day 2. A Rudrabhishek with MandirMay's pandits, with the puja samagri arranged. Later in the day you visit the places around Deoghar by cab: Basukinath, Tapovan and Trikut Pahar.

Day 3. Check out and a drop back to the airport.

This trip is customisable. If you are arriving by train, want an extra night, or are a larger family who needs a bigger cab or more rooms, tell us when you book and we adjust it. If you only have one day, the same-day trip covers darshan and Sankalp without a hotel.

• Puja: Rudrabhishek with two or four pandits, Sankalp puja, or Gathbandhan puja for couples.

• Cabs: airport and railway station pickup and drop for up to four or six people, and a sightseeing cab to Basukinath, Tapovan and Trikut Pahar. Toll taxes are included.

1. Choose a trip or build your own and pick your date and the number of devotees. The price for that date is shown before you pay.
2. Pay an advance online through Razorpay. The rest is paid before your visit.
3. We confirm on WhatsApp with your plan for each day and your representative's details.
4. On the day, your representative meets you at the dham and stays with you through darshan and puja.

Carry a government photo ID for every devotee, and pack traditional clothes. Leather belts, wallets and bags are not allowed inside the temple.

October to March is the most comfortable time to visit Deoghar. The weather is mild and walking between the hotel and the temple is easy.

The temple is busiest on Mondays, on Mahashivratri and through Shravan, when the Shravani Mela brings kanwariyas who walk from Sultanganj with Ganga jal. On those days every line is longer, rooms near the temple fill early, and during the Shravan season Rudrabhishek is done in the outer halls rather than the main sanctum.
