Baidyanath Dham VIP darshan pass: price, timings and booking

Updated 6 November 2026

Quick answers

  • A VIP darshan at Baidyanath means the temple’s Shighra (quick) darshan line: shorter than the general queue, the same sanctum.
  • MandirMay arranges the pass with jal, flowers and bel patra ready, and a representative takes you through on the day.
  • Today’s price for the pass arrangement is in the table below; your date’s price is confirmed before you pay.
  • Carry a government photo ID for every devotee, and wear traditional clothes with no leather.
  • Baidyanath Dham is open 4 AM – 10 PM, as the temple lists it.

What the VIP darshan pass at Baidyanath Dham is

Baba Baidyanath Dham in Deoghar, Jharkhand, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, and on most days the general queue to the sanctum is long. The temple runs a separate Shighra darshan line for devotees who want to spend less time waiting. This is what most people mean by a "VIP darshan pass" at Baidyanath.

With the pass you still enter the same sanctum and offer jal, flowers and bel patra to the Jyotirlinga. What changes is the wait: you join the Shighra line instead of the general one.

MandirMay arranges this for you as one booking: the pass, the puja items you need at the gate, and a MandirMay representative who meets you and takes you through the darshan, start to finish. Here is what it costs today.

How booking works with MandirMay

  1. Pick your date and how many of you are going on the Baidyanath Dham page. You see the price for that date before you pay anything.
  2. Pay an advance online through Razorpay. The rest is paid before your visit.
  3. We confirm on WhatsApp with your darshan plan and your representative's details the day before.
  4. On the day, your representative meets you, hands over the jal, flowers and bel patra, and takes you to the Shighra line.

If you also need a room near the temple, a pickup from Deoghar airport or Jasidih station, or a Rudrabhishek after darshan, you can add them to the same booking, or choose a ready-made Deoghar trip that already has them.

When to go, and when the lines are longest

The temple is busiest on Mondays, on Shivratri, and through Shravan (July–August), when the Shravani Mela brings kanwariyas carrying Ganga jal from Sultanganj. On these days every line, the Shighra line included, is longer, and the temple may change how passes work.

For a calmer darshan, go on a weekday morning outside Shravan. October to March is the most comfortable time of year to visit Deoghar.

If your dates fall on a festival, tell us when you book; we plan your darshan time around the temple's arrangements for that day.

Getting to the temple

Deoghar Airport (DGH) is about 12 km from the temple, and Jasidih Junction, the main railway station for Deoghar, is about 8 km away. MandirMay can arrange a pickup from either and the drop back.

Hotels around the temple are within walking distance of the gates; staying close makes an early-morning darshan easy. See how to reach Deoghar for trains, flights and roads.

What to carry and wear

  • A government photo ID for every devotee.
  • Traditional clothes; leather items (belts, wallets, bags) are not allowed inside.
  • Comfortable footwear you can leave outside, and a small bag for your belongings.
  • MandirMay brings the jal, flowers and bel patra for the offering, so you don't need to buy them at the gate.

Frequently asked questions

What is the price of the VIP darshan pass at Baidyanath Dham?

The price for MandirMay’s VIP (Shighra) darshan arrangement, with jal, flowers and bel patra included, is in the table on this page and is the live price for the next bookable date. The price for your date is shown before you pay.

Is the VIP darshan pass the same as Shighra darshan?

Yes. At Baidyanath Dham, the faster paid line is called Shighra darshan, and it is what most devotees mean by a VIP darshan pass.

How long does VIP darshan take at Baidyanath?

It depends on the day. On a weekday morning outside Shravan the Shighra line usually moves much faster than the general queue; on Mondays, Shivratri and during Shravani Mela every line is longer.

Can elderly parents or children do VIP darshan?

Yes. Your MandirMay representative stays with your family through the darshan, and the shorter wait helps elders and children. Tell us when you book if anyone needs extra help.

What documents do I need?

Carry a government photo ID for every devotee in your group.

Can I book a Rudrabhishek with VIP darshan?

Yes. Add a Rudrabhishek at Baidyanath Dham to the same booking, or pick a ready-made trip that includes both.

Is the VIP pass available during Shravani Mela?

During Shravani Mela the temple runs special arrangements for the very large crowds, and they can change from year to year. Tell us your dates when you book and we will plan around what the temple allows that year.
